Hampshire businesses boosts gin exports

The UK’s gin business is booming and exports are on the up according to information published by HMRC.
A recent report has shown that gin exports are on the up with the UK exporting £532m of British gin to international markets. Figures also show that the number of distilleries in the UK has almost tripled in last five years.
Gin lovers are in their element in Hampshire which is home to Bombay Sapphire gin whose global sales have increased year of year. As well as home to one of the world’s most famous brands you will also find some of the UK’s most inspiring and award-winning artisan brands.
Just a few miles from the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Laverstoke is the Gorilla Spirit Company. Their Silverback Gin was launched at the end of 2015 and won Silver and Bronze at the 2016 International Wine and Spirits.
Another Hampshire award winner is Lymington-based distiller and brewer Dancing Cows; winners of the Hampshire Life Drinks Product of the Year 2016. Other notable gin producers include the Winchester Distillery and Test Valley Gin.
