Hampshire businesses boosts gin exports

The UK’s gin business is booming and exports are on the up according to information published by HMRC. Research also shows the number of new distilleries in the UK rocket by 22% in a year – with more now operating in England than Scotland.
A recent report has shown that gin exports are on the up with the UK exporting £672m of British gin to international markets, taking total sales of the juniper-based spirit at home and abroad to over £3.2 billion.
Gin lovers are in their element in Hampshire which is home to the award winning Bombay Sapphire Distillery, whose global gin sales have increased year of year. Just a few miles from the Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Laverstoke, is the Gorilla Spirit Company. Their Silverback Gin was launched at the end of 2015 and won Silver and Bronze at the 2016 International Wine and Spirits.
