Need financial support to complete customs declarations?

The government have announced a trio of grants to help businesses complete customs declarations. Up to 200,000 euros is available in the form of three grants; a recruitment grant; a training grant and an IT improvements grant.
To be able to apply for just one of the grants, or all of them, your business must:
- be established in, or have a branch in the UK when the grant is paid to you
- not have previously failed to meet its tax obligations
The recruitment grant provides £3,000 for each employee and the opportunity of up to £10,000 for any employee recruited before 31 January 2021, to cover up to 3 months’ salary. To be eligible to apply for this grant, you must currently complete customs declarations on behalf of importers and exporters and have been established in the UK for at least 12 months.
The training grant provides up to 100% of the cost of training of employees, up to a limit of £2,250 for each course. It will also cover the cost of training businesses run internally, up to a limit of £250 for each employee on the course. To apply for the training grant you must either complete customs declarations for themselves or someone else (or intend to in the future) and also import from, or export to the EU and complete customs declarations (or intend to complete customs declarations in the future)
The IT improvements grant provides 100% of the costs relating to IT expenditure to improve the efficiency of making customs declarations. To be able to apply for this grant, businesses must currently complete customs declarations for importers and exporters; have 250 employees or fewer and have an annual turnover of less than €50 million.
