River Test Distillery donates hand sanitiser to Hovertravel
Tuesday May 12th, 2020
The River Test Distillery*, who are based in Test Valley, Hampshire and Winner of ‘England’s BEST London Dry Gin’ (The World Gin Awards 2020), has donated hand sanitiser to Hovertravel for use by its own staff and the key workers using its critical community service.
The award-winning small batch gin distillery added hand sanitiser into its production cycle and has been donating to frontline and key workers in Hampshire including the air ambulance.
Chris Wood, Health & Safety Manager at Hovertravel, adds: “Although we are running a limited service every hour for key workers and those with an essential need to travel we are doing all we can to keep our staff and passengers safe. This, in turn, means ensuring that we have sufficient stock of hand sanitiser for both our terminals and the donation from Sarah and Jonathan at the River Test Distillery is most welcome.
This type of support demonstrates that the business community in Hampshire takes its responsibilities during this time very seriously and is contributing to the combined effort of the county to help out wherever possible.”
The team at The River Test Distillery followed the World Health Organisation’s recommended hand rub formulation, creating a hand sanitiser spray with an ethyl alcohol content of between 75-80%.
*The River Test Distillery was part-funded by the Loddon and Test LEADER rural development programme.
