Key partners in Gosport continue to roll-out the Delivery Plan for the Gosport Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) programme.

The HAZ supported by Historic England and brings together key partners involved in the project including Hampshire County Council, Gosport Borough Council, Historic England, Gosport Society and many others including the Solent LEP.

The Gosport Heritage Action Zone programme is a five year plan which will act as a real catalyst to the wider regeneration of Gosport.  The vision of the Gosport HAZ is to ensure that Gosport’s unique military history is sustained and supports the physical, economic and social regeneration of the borough in the future.

In a separate programme, Gosport’s High Street and Stoke Road conservation areas have now been recognised by Historic England as a ‘High Street Heritage Action Zone’ with £1.78 million of Government funding having been awarded, as a contribution towards an overall £3.2 million regeneration programme designed to find economic, social or community uses for vacant high street units, plus void spaces above.
