saab seaeye wins apprenticeship award

Saab Seaeye, based in Hampshire, has won the Outstanding Investment in Employee Development award from HSDC (Havant and South Downs College).

The award places them top amongst all participating companies in the region and comes during National Apprenticeship Week 2021.

Head of Saab Seaeye’s Early Careers programme, Graham Allward, received the award in a virtual presentation from Mike Gaston, Principal and CEO of Havant and South Downs College.

For over 20 years, Saab Seaeye, the world leader in electric underwater robotics, has been committed to an on-going apprenticeship programme with apprentices enjoying successful careers in a variety of roles.

Graham Allward explains that their structured scheme sees apprentices work across all departments as part of their learning journey with many starting at ONC level and progressing to degree level.

“We have been pleased to offer meaningful apprenticeships to young people looking to start their careers in the world of underwater robotics,” says Graham Allward, ‘and to see them going on to have further successes thanks to our scheme. Everyone in our team at Seaeye is proud to be recognised by this award for our work supporting apprentices in our local community.”
