Winchester-based Gentian Developments, who have investments across the UK, have completed another successful purchase of a prominent Winchester High Street retail space.
Gentian Developments purchased 28 High Street for £1.8m from a Jersey based company. This 3,250 sq ft building is part of Gentian’s ongoing investment into Winchester’s retail offering.
The basement, ground floor and part of the first floor of the property are leased until 2028 to popular British lifestyle brand, Fat Face. The vacant 1,560 sq ft space on the first and second floors will be refurbished by Gentian.

Their Town Centre Regeneration Portfolio now comprises 126 High Street, currently leased to Mountain Warehouse, 46 High Street, currently leased to Seasalt and 7-8 High Street which is currently leased to Closs & Hamblin and Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant.
These significant historic and attractive buildings are now locally owned and maintained. Property Director for Gentian Developments, Alex Hirst said: This fourth purchase on Winchester’s High Street shows our continued commitment and confidence in the City’s retail offering and future. We have a vested interest to ensure our local High Street is an attractive place that people want to visit.”
