Friday December 20th, 2019
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has granted an 150-year lease to St Modwen to redevelop an 188,000 sq ft industrial scheme at Viables Business Park in Basingstoke, which is set to create up to 200 permanent jobs.
St Modwen is working with the current owner of the building, American manufacturing company ITT Industries Limited, as part of a joint venture agreement to redevelop the site.
Subject to a planning application, which has now been submitted, being approved, plans for the site include three new large warehouses and two small retail pods following the demolition of the existing buildings.
St Modwen Park Basingstoke, is located within 2 miles of the town centre and Basingstoke railway station, which provides direct services to London Waterloo, Southampton and the West Country. The development’s proximity to junctions 6 (2.2 miles) and 7 (4.1 miles) of the M3, provide good access to the M25, A303 and M27 while the scheme’s motorway connectivity also allows for fast access to London’s two major airports, Heathrow and Gatwick.
