IT company continues to prosper in Hampshire

Monday September 2nd, 2019

Over 17 years ago, founders and directors, Warwick Everett and Guy Wright, identified a market opportunity, for a smaller reseller, to become a trusted advisor for local businesses.  The name they chose reflects their ability to scale services, focused on tailored solutions – Freestyle IT.

Beginning life based at Basepoint Business Centre (Basingstoke), Freestyle IT has prospered and grown to a team of over 20 people. Headquartered in Hook, located on Murrell Green Business Park, where they have worked to develop links with neighbouring companies.

They continue to see accelerated growth, with a large increase in revenue and gross profit in 2018, with their continued growth validated by entering the Southern Tech 100 list 2019.

The brand reflects “the Friendly Face of Freestyle” and the growth of the business over the past couple of years, together with investment in customer care, is testament to the success of this strategy.

Remaining vendor neutral, to provide customer choice, Freestyle IT enjoy excellent working relationships with Dell EMC, HP, Microsoft, VMWare and Cisco, amongst other world leading manufacturers.  These partnerships mean they can offer leading edge infrastructure and cloud solutions.

Earlier in 2019, at the HPE Global Partner Summit in Las Vegas, Freestyle IT were delighted to be presented with the HPE Rising Star Award for UK and Ireland 2019. As a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Partner, Freestyle IT has established a long-term collaboration to deliver IT Infrastructure solutions, which are ‘more efficient, productive and secure’.

Why did you choose Hampshire?

“We had previously worked together at other Hampshire based businesses and live locally. The majority of our team are drawn from the area close to our offices in Hook.  Hampshire is a great base for an IT company, with many manufacturers and distributors based nearby and great access to the transport network, linking us to the rest of the UK and beyond.”

What do you love most about Hampshire?

“We are based amongst green fields, near to the facilities of Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover and have great partnerships in the surrounding areas. Through our Charity of the Year programme, we support Hampshire based organisations doing amazing things.  Currently we are working with Naomi House & Jacksplace, who are based near Winchester.”

Guy Wright, Director, Founder and Owner Freestyle IT says: ”Nurturing young people’s career development, we work in partnership with Basingstoke ITEC and support flexible working and professional development, within the wider team.  Training plans for all our team, include annual updates of accreditation and participation in Vendor programmes.

My vision for Freestyle IT is to continually develop trusted partnerships with our customers and partners, allowing the business to grow and flourish. We need to perpetually move forwards, with ever changing technologies, as well as creating a great place to work.”
